FAQs

  • We have been making our specialized wood composite baths since 2014. With many years devoted just to R&D, we have developed a proprietary formula and construction process for our baths that allows these baths to be used daily in indoor environments maintenance free for many decades.

  • There is no regular required maintenance other than cleaning. no oil, or finish to be re-applied, no wood & water mixing to help it swell to function. Our baths function the same as fiberglass baths, acrylic, or composite baths. To not disrupt the sheen & clarity of the final finishes, we recommend just soap and water for cleaning and no grit based cleaners. However we have tested our baths & sinks with many things from industrial grade solvents, draino, and other heavy bath cleaning chemicals. Along with water temperatures up to 150 degrees. We have no issues with these tests.

  • We have sold our baths to customers all over the world with many unique installations and had almost no issues over the last 8 + years. We provide an industry standard 1 year warranty, and a use and care guide at the time of purchase.

  • Clean your tub with mild soap and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaning implements sucha as steel wool, Scotch-Brite or abrasive type cleaners such as Ajax, Comet, or so-called “soft scrub” products. These may scratch the fish and lead to discoloration.

Harsh chemicals of any kind should be avoided. Although a regular spray bleach, like Clorox is totally fine.

  • Strong UV / Sun exposure can cause damage to the baths in the form of bleaching of the wood or fogging of finishes - however most interior windows provide plenty of UV resistance. We recommend and only warranty indoor use.

  • Water over 120 degrees fahrenheit is not reccomended. It is dangerous for people and can also damage the bath. Most home water heaters do not heat up beyond 120 degrees, so this shouldn’t be an issue

  • NK Bath can work with you and your sales representative to design a custom bathtub that suits your space in a variety of design aesthetics.

Jet systems are also available for certain designs and can be explored in the design development process if desired.

  • YES! It can be installed by your local plumber very easily. We also provide you with an easy to follow Installation guide.

  • Good question, but no. However, you could most likely cover the drain and use it to escape a tsunami if you put it on the penthouse floor!

All joking aside these baths were inspired by modern boat building, but we had to adapt boat building techniques for the final product that is long-lasting and will hold up to standard safety requirements and bath water temperatures
